Ahhh..., Amz, you are making me feel right at home here!! ;D
Between Madhuri and Kajol taking leaves of absence from Bollywood, I wonder how much longer I can hold on. It was definitely encouraging that Madz performed at that award show (and she looked fabulous), but I wonder if that is a signal of things to come or if it was a favor/gesture to show she still got it (and boy, does she still have it!! hot!) ;D

Oh I definately believe it's a sign of things to come. And she is said to have shown in interest in signing films, it's just about finding the right script. I think with both Madz and Kadz (hee!) being mothers, they want the time they spend away from their children to be worth it. Here's hoping Madhuri is offered something she can't say no too!
Madhuri Dixit put off by the idea of nudity? 22nd June 2006 21.00 IST By ApunKaChoice Bureau
There seems to be a reason why Madhuri Dixit has not committed to filmmaker Shaji Karun’s proposed project on the life of painter Raja Ravi Varma and his muse Sugunabai.
The film, tentatively titled ‘Suryamukhi’, is about the love affair between Raja Ravi Varma and a Maharastrian woman who posed for him. The film is set in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.
Six-time National Award winner, filmmaker Shaji Karun, approached Madhuri with the offer to act in the movie when the actress was in India early this year.
Madhuri heard the story, but has still not committed to the project.
She is being sought to play Sugunabai in the film.
Reports suggest that the film might contain some nudity as Raja Ravi Varma painted some nude canvases of his muse. And this doesn’t seem to have gone well with Madhuri.
Although Shaji has said that he will use shadows in the film to represent nudity, or perhaps use the paintings by Varma to depict the same, it still remains to be seen whether Madhuri will give her consent to the role.
Shaji Karun has approached Ajay Devgan to play the painter.
In case Madhuri declines to act in the film, Karun says he will sign Vidya Balan .

Let's hope they can work past the nudity issue.

Hmm..., interesting. I adored Vidya Balan in Parineeta, but I'm willing to give my pinky toe to see Madz casted in this film instead of Vidya!!

Not just you. The film sounds interesting and any Madhuri film would be awesome. Though I'd love to see Madz work with YRF again.

I am really looking forward to Madhuri being in this movie. I can just picture her as the muse. She was a good one in Gajagamini. I watched half of it, but couldn't complete it. Anyway, having Vidya in it isn't a bad idea, but I feel Madhuri would lend a timeless aura to this character that no one else can. She is fabulous. It also helps that she is a classical dancer and is so beautiful. She has this mature look and persona which would go well with the ambience of this movie. I really hope they sort out of this issue and proceed to make this movie. I feel this would be an ideal comeback vehicle for the BW queen (to me, she still is)

Wow, that's cool, Wasima. We can play "Name This Scene". I at least recognize Kay Sera Sera, Badi Mashkil, and Chole Ke Peeche. I can't get over how expressive her face always is.

She might be coming back! Playing the muse of a famous painter (the name i forget now). But she has problems with possible nudity. if she says no it will (probably) go to one of my other favorites: Vidya Balan.

The media can't seem to decide if she is or isn't. Last I heard someone else was being given the role of the painter's muse. I still maintain she's an NRI and wants to do a role in the USA, so they should make that kind of a role for her, something like Sobhana did in Mitr.

Madhuri’s comeback: The truth By Taran Adarsh, July 25, 2006 - 23:32 IST Is Madhuri Dixit staging a comeback to movies? Has Yash Chopra offered her a film? Is Bobby Bedi contemplating signing the actress to enact the role of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi? All sorts of stories are floating in the industry. So what’s the truth? Every few months one keeps hearing that Madhuri, who is settled in the U.S. after her marriage, is contemplating returning to movies. Sometime back, Somnath Sen [LEELA] had teamed Amitabh Bachchan and Madhuri in his new project, but the film couldn’t materialize since the actress was pregnant with her second child. In the recent past, there were murmurs that at least two prominent producers, Yash Chopra and Bobby Bedi, had approached the actress with film projects. “True, both Yash-ji and Bobby have offered her films,” Madhuri’s business manager Rikku confirms the development, “But the truth is that she hasn’t officially signed any of the projects. There have been discussions… In fact, Yash-ji had offered her two projects, but it all depends on whether she feels excited about those roles.” Rikku continues with the topic, “Right now, Madhuri is busy with her family. Looking after her husband, home and raising two kids is a full-time responsibility. But, at the same time, she hasn’t closed the doors on movies. Sure, she’s taking time, but the wait will be worth it.” www.indiafm.com/news/2006/07/25/7503/index.html

Ok, what is the deal with the movie "Kabhi Kabhi" which IMDB says is in "post production" and allegedly stars Madz and Shah Rukh, is that true? Is it really in post production? I can't find anything on the web about it, so can anyone shed any light? IMDB is often wrong, particularly about non-Hollywood actors (they still have Kunal Kapoor starring in Guru!). So I don't know what to believe....
