By the way, has anyone seen the movie Mrityu Dand: the Death Sentence? Oh my gosh, it is such a great Madhuri performance. And it is a good movie when you consider it was made almost 10 years ago and the "fight" scenes and special effects aren't exactly state-of-the-art. But the story is gripping (it has some tiny holes, but it may just be the subtitles; some of them weren't great to the extent my broken Hindi could tell). And Madz..., what can I say? She was truly amazing! I highly recommend the movie if you are a Madhuri fan. Shabana Azmi and Om Puri were great in it as well.

If the buzz is to be believed, the ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ team might just return next year. Insider news goes that Yash Chopra will be putting together his next directorial venture with ShahRukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles in January.
Reportedly, the Denver-based actor had been signed up by the Yash Raj banner for two films, but in keeping with the ways of the production house, everyone has been sworn to secrecy.
It may be recalled that Dixit has been eager to stage a comeback to acting but she has maintained time and again that she would want to give her children (Ryan and Arin) the first priority. The actor, whose last big hit was ‘Devdas’ before she settled in the US with husband Dr Sriram Nene, was even offered a film by Shaji Karun, based on painter Raja Ravi Verma’s life, but she turned it down.
She was even committed to work in a film by Somnath Sen alongside Amitabh Bachchan but there has been no news of it since. Meanwhile, the Chopras are considering also Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji for another important role in the film, we have been told. Chopra last directed the cross-border romance, ‘Veer-Zaara’.
i would lovee to see srk-madhuri in another film.but dont know how much of this is true!*shrugs*and plzzz no rani or preity!wasn't the torture enough with their back to back yrf releases?

I would love to see Srk and Madhuri in a movie again.
They were great together in Hum tumhare hain sanam and Koyla!

She didn't go into a lot of art movies, but she has this one to her credit. When I saw she was costarring with Shabana Azmi, I had to see it. And the two of them were great together. |
