I have no idea what it is about, but looks great from the promos. I almost don't want to know what it's about to preserve the mystery! ;D

Omkara music launch party cancelledJul 06, 2006 Mumbai, (IANS) The music launch party of Vishal Bharadwaj's eagerly awaited movie "Omkara" was cancelled here due to the torrential rains in the city. The cancellation of the party, scheduled to have been held Tuesday, has left the film crew a wee bit disappointed. The music of the film has, however, been launched and the album has hit the market but the "Omkara" team is looking forward to the party, which will take place as soon as the rains stop in Mumbai. The title song of the film is already running on all TV channels and it gives the feel of the rural background the film is set in. The album has everything - love, ballad, item and rustic songs. Bharadwaj, who started his career as a music director, has composed the music of the film and Gulzar has penned down the lyrics. www.bollywoodworld.com/news/bwnews.php?subaction=showfull&id=1152182506&archive=&start_from=&ucat=1&

OMKARA craze starts heating up Joginder Tuteja, IndiaGlitz [Thursday, July 06, 2006] While there are number of movies like Corporate, Golmaal, Ahista Ahista, Aryan - Unbreakable, The Killer, Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota and Anthony Kaun Hai? releasing this July, one movie for which the craze is unparalleled is Vishal Bhardwaj's OMKARA. Why? Because the pre-release hype and an aggressive publicity have already done the trick. To make matters more interesting, short introduction of the film is out which has been presented as a work of literature. Have a look: Once upon a time in the East In a world ruled by outlaws, a world that lived by the trigger There was a single clan that was held together by loyalty Friendship tied their hearts, adversities strengthened their bonds But beneath all the merry lay eyes, lurking eyes that shone of envy Beneath the greed lay a gut, a gut infected with deceit Beneath the deceit lay a heart, a heart that only knew how to love ....And to kill for the same No wonder, Omkara is fast turning out to be a must-watch film of the month! www.indiaglitz.com/channels/hindi/article/23534.html

Anyone heard the music yet? I have it, but I can't seem to stop playing KANK. KANK has been overtaken by the Omkara as my favourite soundtrack of the year so far... I've been listening to it constantly on the way to work/home... and I'm completely in love with it. I don't want to give it away... but its a re-telling of Othello. -- Who'd have known I'd ever want to see a film based on the play... I thought school was supposed to kill Shakespeare.

I can deal with knowing it is based on Othello because that is a classic. I didn't like knowing so much about Fanaa (the first half was very uneventful because of my prior knowledge) and with KANK, I tried to stay ignorant, but no one, including Kran himself, was helping!!
But I think I'm going to like this movie anyway. I like the cast and can't wait to hear the soundtrack.

Just saw a long dialogue promo on AVS (if it's not on the net yet, it will be soon) and it looks amazing! Seriously. Kareena, Ajay and Saif look awesome in their roles and I actually had tears in my eyes at one point, so I don't know what I'm going to be like when I watch the film. Really looking forward to this. Link to trailer.
