I would have loved if Juhi was in place of Rani, but only because I want to see SRK and Juhi together again. But I did enjoy Paheli, I thought it was a nice fairy tale. And I thought the chemistry was still there.

I thought Rani was good in Paheli and she did look very beautiful. Though I found the film pretty boring too. But I agree, I'd like to have seen Juhi in that role (she looked stunning!) And Sam the chemistry not being right was definately SRK's moustache. It looked horrid! (Sorry SRK fans  )  |

Rani is my favourite working Bollywood actress, she (along with Saif) are probably the reason I got into Bollywood in the first place. RE: Paheli and Rani or Juhi. No offence to Juhi (who I love a lot) but she's too old for the role... and I don't think even she could have played the role better than Rani. If someone had said "who would you cast in the role of Lachchi", I'd have said Rani straight away. (For the record I don't like Paheli much. Its pretty, songs are good but I have various problems with the storyline/"a woman's choice"/SRK's moustache.) I would love to see Juhi and Shah Rukh together, particularly now; they both are looking so yummy! Can we petition anyone to cast them together?! I'll join you!  I want them in a remake of "The Awful Truth"... Seriously. |

I was conflicted about the movie, not about her role. I do want to see SRK and Juhi reunited as a pair, but that doesn't mean everytime she shows up in a movie that also has SRK, but not paired with her, I start wishing that other person wasn't there. In the great movies with SRK and Juhi, there wasn't another presence to worry about. You knew in duplicate that Sonali wasn't going to lure him away.
I like Rani but I like Juhi, too. They are both great ladies, and I want to see them both with SRK. And Kajol, too. In fact, he doesnt need any new leading ladies. He's got a perfect group already.

Getting to like Rani was different for me. Before recently, the only bollywood actress I ever liked was Rakha [and a few others whose names I can't remmeber], none of the current crop however. In fact, my favorite bwood movie till date is Khoon Bhari Maang [with Rekha. Remake anyone?] THEN I saw K3G, and I was BOWLED over by Kajol. Still am. THEN slowly by slowly Rani grew on me. See, for me, [oh sorry if i am yakking abt Kajol in a Rani thread] Kajol is the kind of person i am, but the difference is she carries it to perfection and it is beautiful to see such a character, whereas for most of us people like that, it is not. She is brash and outspoken and not afraid to let u know it. She is the type of person I am and she manages to carry it off with grace. Now Rani...Rani is the type of person I wish to be but am not...all gentle and sweet.... she is super. And I realize that I adore Rani's acting style too and both of them with incredible skill, and her voice....AND THEN also she is shorter than most women her age!!! erm..so am I!!! So she and I are kindred spirits. i cannot choose between Rani and Kajol.they are the two best actresses of hindi cinema today - and two of the best personalities too. [sorry once again, I can't seem to talk about one without mentioning the other.

going yakking abt my two favorite people, it would be my greatest fantasy to see Kajol and Rani in the same movie, playing equal roles...that would be PERFECT!! Hai, i love those two....

I like that idea too. Maybe sorta like Veer-Zaara. If they were two loves for the heroine, that would be sorta intense. If it were a comedy, it would be a blast! I'm sure the two of them would make it memorable. Sorta like Juhi and Kajol in Ishq.

Anyway, back to Rani! I know some people here really liked Paheli and I was very lukewarm about the movie (found it a bit boring) and I didn't see that much chemistry between Shah Rukh and Rani (maybe it was the mustache, who knows?!). I have said before that I wish she and Juhi had switched roles (though that would not have really worked as Rani looked younger than Juhi). Anyone else a bit "conflicted" about her role in Paheli? Agreed to infinity! I felt that Juhi was in the wrong role. And agreed about Paheli being boring. I don't think it's because of anyone's acting, probably just because of the story. I first saw Rani in KKHH....I think. I also hated her at first for "getting between" SRK and Kajol. But I think her second movie that I saw was MDK. Then of course I hated Kareena for getting between Rani and Hrithik.  I slowly got more and more used to Rani and I loved her. Her voice is a trademark for me. Which is why I hated Ghulam so much. They dubbed her voice!  Because of that, it was very hard to enjoy any scenes w/ Rani in that movie. I might be the only one but I think Rani actually has great chemistry with Salman Khan. CCCC is one example. It really shows and I get this feeling that she brings out a better "acting" side of Salman. But Abhi and Saif are also very good pairings. For me, I can't exactly enjoy SRK w/ Rani. I don't know, maybe because of KKHH, but will try extra hard to enjoy them in KANK. But she does, IMO, have better chemistry with him than Preity. Just my opinion. |

Rani is a good actress.She is pretty and cute.
Her movies like hum tum ,veer and zaara,KANK and more ...she was very good in the movies.

She is a good actress! I like most the movies she's done.
I like Black and Nayak the most.
I wasn't really fond of her character in KANK. She cried too much.
Baabul was good. I loved the scene where she starts dancing with the green sweater. SO SAD!
