Dhoom 2 upstages Don Faridoon Shahryar, IndiaGlitz [Tuesday, July 04, 2006] Showbiz is like Politics. No permanent friends or enemies. Shahrukh Khan is realizing exactly the same at this very moment. Apparently Yash Chopra and son Aditya Chopra are taking their animosity with Shah to a different level. Two of the biggest Diwali releases this year will be Yash Raj’s ‘Dhoom 2’ and Shahrukh’s ‘Don’. All the exhibitors of ‘Krrish’ (Yash Raj Films is distributing Hrithik’s super duper saga) have been verbally booked for ‘Dhoom 2’ and this leaves very few exhibitors for ‘Don’. And in the bargain, the fate of King Khan’s big ticket will be affected badly. The feud between the two parties started when Shahrukh asked for his market price from Yash Raj Films. The ten year association started turning sour as Aditya Chopra had learned by now that he could make successful films even without Shahrukh. Aamir Khan was signed at his market price for ‘Fanaa’ which incensed Shahrukh. His favorite leading lady Kajol was signed opposite Aamir, upsetting King Khan even further. After being chucked out from Shimit Amin’s film produced by Yash Raj Films in favor of Salman Khan, Shahrukh was at a loss of words. The schemer that he is, he just wormed his way back by easing out Salman from Shimit’s film. No wonder Salman is upset with him. It seems Yash and Aditya Chopra are in a mood to teach a lesson to all the big and small stars of Bollywood. That if they can do it to the biggest of them all, then they can do it with anyone. So beware! IndiaGlitz will keep a close watch on the Diwali fireworks and keep you updated about the same. www.indiaglitz.com/channels/hindi/article/23479.html

I don't believe a word of this rubbish. The media is always creating a discord between SRK and the chopras and SRK and the Bachchans when everyone knows that he respects and is very close to both parties.

Director Aditya Chopra will make a film without Khan for the first time, has cast Abhishek Bachchan insteadRam Kamal Mukherjee Ever heard of an Aditya Chopra film without Shah Rukh Khan? Shah Rukh has been the face of blockbusters films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Mohabbatein (both made by Chopra) but in a latest development, Chopra has decided to drop his favourite star in favour of Abhishek Bachchan. It is rumoured that owing to Shah Rukh's alienation from the Bachchans, the Chopras have decided to keep him out of their camp. According to our source, Abhishek Bachchan will take over in Chopra's next project. "It will be a romantic film. They are considering Rani Mukherji to play the lead,” our source reveals. Chopra is tight-lipped about his forthcoming venture, but sources say that Shah Rukh is history as far as Yashraj films go. This is in stark contrast to the solidarity... ... that the two have expressed on numerous instances previously. In an earlier interview, Yash Chopra had even stated, "Shah Rukh is like my family. I don't have to sign him for my projects. He will always be with me even if he is not part of my projects." Not many people know that it was Adi Chopra who convinced Shah Rukh to work in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and that Yash Chopra took up a fight with Sunny Deol, in support of Shah Rukh Khan during the making of Darr. So much so, that after Darr the Deols and Chopras never worked together. However, in a bid to make truce with everyone, the Chopras have even signed Bobby Deol for Shaad Ali's Jhoom Bara Bar Jhoom. "Chopras are reconciling with everyone, just to make Shah Rukh feel that he not indispensable," says our source. Shah Rukh, on his part is very disappointed with Chopra. He always made time for Yashraj films from Darr to Veer Zara, they have had a long-standing association. Shah Rukh has always maintained his dignity and said, "I don't believe in all these rumours. Amitji is above all this. Abhishek is like my younger brother and my kids are fond of him." However our source says, "Shah Rukh shouldn't have taken panga with Amar Singh, he is very powerful and can twist anyone's arm. Even then, it is unfair to dump Shah Rukh from the camp, just because of the Bachchans." Although Shah Rukh and Yash Chopra have denied the ‘so-called’ war between them, their actions seem to speak otherwise. Yash Chopra has blocked all the major theatres and multiplexes for Dhoom 2, which is slated for a Diwali release. Incidentally, Ritesh Sidhwani is planning to release Farhan Akhtar's film Don, starring Shah Rukh Khan at the same time. "Yashraj has the biggest distribution network in India, and after Hrithik Roshan's Krrish, people are eagerly waiting for the much-hyped Dhoom 2. It seems that UTV will be distributing Don, and will face tough competition from Dhoom 2," says our source. Link

I have one word for the incompetent Indian media........ WTF?...no really..WTF??
hasn't SRK jsut said in an interview that he has nothing but respect for the Bachchans. hasn't Yash Chopra himself praised SRK in an interview just last week, and said that he and AB don't even ask about money when they sign with yashraj?.
and if the Chopra's are excluding him... how come he is doing Chake De?
this is just so crappy...it's not like the fans can't google information

this is all BS. so what if Adi makes a film without SRK. doesnt mean they'll never work together again! and he's still doing the other one directed by Shimit Amin (Chak De). i dont believe they replaced him with Salman! or even thought about it for that matter

Shah Rukh Khan Is Right By Krishna Jewel, AllBollywood.com Staff
Perhaps Shah Rukh is right, "Some journos need copy at any cost."
A current article in a well-known Mumbai paper is riding on the so-called dispute between the Bachchans and Khan, however, now the author of the article is attempting to involve the Chopras.
The article claims the Chopras are snubbing Shah Rukh in favour of Abhishek Bachchan for Aditya's next film, pointing out that Shah Rukh was in both DDLJ and Mohabbatein, but will not be in Aditya's upcoming project.
However, Dhoom was an Aditya production, and Shah Rukh was nowhere to be seen in it either, but rather Abhishek. Yet, no one claimed a rift at that time.
The article claims it is 'rumoured' that owing to Shah Rukh's 'alienation' of the Bachchans, the Chopras have decided to alienate Shah Rukh. Apparently the information came from a source, but it is not stated how the source is connected to Abhishek Bachchan, the Chopras or Shah Rukh.
However, one has to ask if there is such a problem between the Chopras and Khan, why would Yash himself say in an interview last week, "Shah Rukh is like my family. I don't have to sign him for my projects. He will always be with me even if he is not part of my projects." Going on to call Shah Rukh his 'jaan'.
It is widely known that Yash Chopra was so in support of Khan during Darr that he had a fight with Sunny Deol. It's claimed that following Darr the Deols and Chopras never worked together again, however, people seem to forget that Esha Deol, star of Dhoom, is the half-sister of Sunny and Bobby Deol. So much for not working with the Deols anymore.
Now, the Chopras have even signed Bobby Deol for Shaad Ali's Jhoom Bara Bar Jhoom. The source claims, "Chopras are reconciling with everyone, just to make Shah Rukh feel that he not indispensable." This seems unlikely, as it does not benefit anyone to isolate Shah Rukh or the Chopras. Why would either side shoot themselves in the foot, so to speak?
Shah Rukh has always maintained his dignity and said, "I don't believe in all these rumours. Amitji is above all this. Abhishek is like my younger brother and my kids are fond of him." He even said in a recent interview that during the New York schedule of KANK, he and Amitabh would spend hours on end talking after pack up, and when Abhishek left for three days to attend a wedding, Shah Rukh missed him. He has stated that the Bachchans are family, and the Chopras have said the same of Shah Rukh.
On Uday Chopra's new website, www.udaychopra.com, he speaks of Shah Rukh fondly and often, saying he is his favourite actor and his nickname, U.D. -said Udi - was given to him by Shah Rukh. Uday says he has learned the most about acting from Shah Rukh and one of his favourite films is a Shah Rukh film, which is not a Chopra film, by the way.
Do these things sound like a family at war with Khan?
At the end of the day, they are business people as well as friends, and sometimes business is a tough thing. Yash Chopra may have 'blocked all major theatres and multiplexes' for the release of Dhoom2, which is slated for a Diwali release. At the same time Ritesh Sidhwani is planning to release Farhan Akhtar's film Don, starring Shah Rukh Khan. However, this does not necessarily indicate anything more than an effort to make money. At the end of the day, all films are up against each other, and if two big films come out at the same time, the distributors must do what they can to insure box office success. Every one in the industry knows this.
Of course, Shah Rukh and Yash Chopra have denied the so-called war between them, as there is none.
Next, these same journos will be creating a war between Hrithik and his father and Khan. Incidentally, while he was holidaying in London with his family, Shah Rukh hosted a special dinner for Hrithik when he visited London to promote Krrish.
Hrithik was very touched by Khan's gesture.
Why some journalists feel they must stir things just to make copy is beyond understanding. There is enough that actually takes place every day, without creating stories.
On the other hand, they know the name Shah Rukh Khan sells, be it on celluloid or in print.
So, as I said, it seems Shah Rukh Khan is right, "Some journos need copy at any cost."

Shah Rukh moving from Yashraj bannerJul 06, 2006 Shah Rukh’s long-standing association with the Yashraj banner is nearing an end. Both the parties have never agreed to the cold war between them, but now the things are obvious. He has been a part of their film from Darr to Veer Zara. Aditya Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan were inseparable, as Adi had never made a film till date without him. Shah Rukh has rendered blockbusters films like ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ and ‘Mohabbatein’ made by him. But in the sudden turn of events Yashraj banner has dropped him for their next project and have signed Abhishek Bachchan instead. Reports say that it’ll be a romantic film with Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherji is being considered to play the female lead. Chopras are tight-lipped about their forthcoming venture. The situation came through due to Shah Rukh's unfriendliness with the Bachchans. Also his rift with Amar Singh may have led to the state. But this surely stands as a contrast to the rapport and the relationship the Chopras and he shared before. Not long back Yash Chopra considered Shah Rukh as his family and claimed that he will always be a part of the films he made. Adi Chopra also took up a fight with Sunny Deol during the making of ‘Darr’ and they haven’t worked together ever since. But now calling for peace they’ve signed Bobby Deol for Shaad Ali's ‘Jhoom Bara Bar Jhoom,’ just to make Shah Rukh feel that he not indispensable. Shah Rukh was not available for comments but it has been learnt that he is very disappointed with Chopra. But sometime back on this whole issue he said, “I don't believe in all these rumours. Amitji is above all this. Abhishek is like my younger brother and my kids are fond of him.” Also Yash Chopra has blocked all the major theatres and multiplexes for ‘Dhoom 2’, which is slated for a Diwali release and this is the time Ritesh Sidhwani is planning to release Farhan Akhtar's film ‘Don’ starring Shah Rukh Khan. Needless to add the film will face strong competition at the box office www.bollywoodworld.com/news/bwnews.php?subaction=showfull&id=1152183129&archive=&start_from=&ucat=1&
