Kajol could star opposite Shah Rukh Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is hell bent on denting into Amitabh Bachchan’s popularity, by re-doing more of the legends great roles. Shah Rukh Khan will soon be seen as Don in the remake of the Amitabh Bachchan starrer of the same name. But the King Khan is not stopping just there. He is trying hard to land the role of Vijay of Deewar. Deewar is vastly regarded as one of Amitabh Bahchan’s greatest performances, and now Shah Rukh Khan wants to show the world that he can match the Big B. Shah Rukh is trying valiantly to secure the rights of the film, so that he can remake it, for his own home production company. He has been talking with fellow Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan to do the role of Shashi Kapoor. What’s more, the star wants Kajol to star opposite him, and is trying to sign Hema Malini to play the mother’s role. However, the rights of the film are not easily available, and he may have a long wait on his hands. But if he does manage to pull it of, it would an absolute delight to see Shah Rukh Khan utter those memorable lines, such as “Main aaj bhi phenke huye paise nahi utatha”. Hmmm, not gonna believe it just yet. Isn't the female role in the film quite small? Can't see Kajol agreeing to that. On the other hand...Kajol, SRK and Saif in one film? (Woohoo! ) Thanks for posting, meemee!

The rumours are always hopelessly optimistic. Like the complete bulls**t story about Aamir, Salman AND Shahrukh working on a Mystic River remake. Yeah, okay. A huge bunch of stars in one film? Uhh, I'll believe it if it has the name of the director and the producer attached. *Maybe*.

I have trouble believing THIS story, based as it is on the premise that SRK is "hellbent on denting Amitabh's popularity". Honestly, don't editors ever kill a story? Anyway, but I have no trouble believing that SRK will produce a movie starring himself and Kajol. No trouble at all. Who wouldnt want to produce a movie starring a legendary pair? They've done the same thing with Rishi and Dimple.

I heard the Deewar rumors on Namaste America as well, but nothing about Kajol. Honestly, I think Shah Rukh should be careful. He is the greatest and most popular actor of his generation. Why should he have to go and set himself up for a comparison with AB? I haven't seen Don, so I won't prejudge, but seeing how AB is a legend and SRK is well on his way to become one, I don't see any reason why one should follow in the foot steps of the other.
Aside from the fact that remaking Sholay is a horrific act in and of itself, I respect AB, Jr. and SRK for staying far from it!

Ugh, it's like Hollywood with the re-hashes. Seriously, leave the oldies alone. Start adapting books or something fresh like that, Bollywood! Please!
Sorry for the out-break.

The reason for remaking oldies is to appeal to the present generation and bring the story to them with the present stars so the audience of today can relate to them. Not everyone wants to see the old Don with AB. But many of today's youngsters would love the same movie with SRK in it. Besides, new techniques can enhance the old story and make it more contemporary. HW has done it so many times with Superman and King Kong and even the old Cary Grant classics. Why not BW?
