It’s all about not loving your spouse! Faheem Ruhani Wednesday, June 21, 2006 18:10 IST Easily the most awaited release of 2006, ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ (‘KANK’), with its mega star cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji and Preity Zinta, promises drama Karan Johar style. The filmmaker, who has so far been associated with colourful, feel-good cinema, tackles the subject of infidelity for the first time. “Most of my stories come from life itself. ‘KANK’ is a derivative of what I have seen around and I felt this is a story that needed to be told,” says Karan. About the film, lyricist Javed Akhtar says, “When I read the script, I was envious of Karan and I admire the way in which he has addressed a taboo topic. The movie is bound to disturb your sense of morality, but I admire the delicate way in which he has handled the topic.” With regard to the chemistry between his lead players, the director reveals, “It is a film about broken marriages. So I sincerely hope you find no chemistry between them .” As for second thoughts, Karan quips, “I missed my father reprimanding me for spending so much money on the costumes, because he always felt costumes were not important.” www.dnaindia.com/report.asp?NewsID=1036861
