"New Look" Not To be Seen In KANK
By Krishna Jewel, AllBollywood.com Staff
Previously, there was a buzz in the media over the new look sported by Shah Rukh Khan in his upcoming film, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. There were images released in a magazine of Shah Rukh with longer hair, unshaven and blue contacts that accompanied an interview with the actor covering among other things his upcoming films, including KANK. As he was seen holding a football in the images as well and his character is a football coach, it had been stated this was his 'look' in the upcoming film.
However, as those who have seen the promos will attest; Shah Rukh does not have blue eyes or a scruffy, unshaven appearance in the film. The only thing he does have that holds true to the previous description is his hair is a bit longer that usual.
The question now is why? Why were these shots taken? Why was Shah Rukh wearing blue contacts and a scruffy appearance?
There are a few speculations about this. One being it was a PR stunt, another being it was the original look the character was to have; but it is no secret, it was look that was not widely accepted by the majority of SRK's fans.
While a tiny handful of the Kings fans either had no opinion about the change of eye colour, or actually liked it, most took great exception to the blue contacts. Reactions ranged from mild disappointment or dislike to extreme disappointment and in many cases, they hated the contacts. A few even found them 'creepy' or 'scary'. Whatever the degree of reaction, the vast majority agreed, it just was not the Shah Rukh they know and love.
With this in mind, it is certain that the lack of contacts in KANK will come as a great relief to a myriad of fans that adore Shah Rukh's cognac brown eyes.
